Hi everyone!
Wishing everyone a fantastic kickoff to the new year. I hope the holiday spirit lingers on, and that you have all enjoyed a wonderful Christmas and are off to a great start in 2024. I just arrived back from the USA yesterday, and am ready to kick off lessons starting tonight!
Spring Semester - 2024
Looking ahead to our upcoming spring semester, starting in February, we've got some big announcements! Firstly, a heartfelt reminder that this will be my last semester with Taiko Zentrum Deutschland. For those who've drummed with me before, it would wonderful to see you back in the dojo for this final semester! In the Fall, we're embarking on a new journey as we transition into a city sponsored taiko club as I move back to the USA.

Upcoming Events
Scottish Taiko Festival - April 12-14
I'm thrilled to be a part of the Scottish Taiko Festival happening April 12th to the 14th! Join me for a beginner basics class focused on bringing health and awareness to your taiko playing. I can't wait to share the rhythm and energy with everyone attending. While there, I'm also super stoked about collaborating on my piece 'Steampunk'd' with the talented folks at Shoshin Taiko Dojo in Aberfoyle. Huge shoutout to Martin, Shonagh, and Joao for this incredible opportunity!
Utah Taiko Experience - July 19-28
Get ready for the Utah Taiko Experience, happening from July 19th to the 28th in picturesque Manti, Utah. Registration opens January 20th at 10am PST. This marks my second time directing this incredible event, and it's shaping up to be nothing short of spectacular.
Our stellar content crew, featuring Martin Doyle, Shonagh Walker, Shoji Kameda, Yuta Kato and myself, is back for another round of taiko magic. We're bringing some exciting changes to elevate your experience, both on the taiko and in the heart of nature. We will also be fundraising for our wonderful hosts at Manti High School, and helping them to get an acoustic enhancing clamshell for the choir program!
We're pumped to bring taiko back to Sanpete County, Utah in 2024 and to be supporting the arts in this wonderful community! Click below for all the details.
As we begin this final semester together, I want to express my deepest gratitude for the unwavering support and enthusiasm from this incredible Taiko community. For me, Taiko is more than drumming; it's always about community building. As I prepare for my next adventure with Utah Taiko, I encourage each one of you to rally behind Simon and our dedicated Taiko students who will be steering the movement here in Ulm.
Always remember, community is at the heart of what we have built here in Ulm with Taiko Zentrum Deutschland, and what we've co-created over the last 10 years is a testament to every single person involved. It wasn't just me; it was all of us, sharing the music, the laughter, and the energy and creating an uplifting and positive community that has really had an impact both here and abroad. Let's continue this together, supporting one another, and keeping the flame burning bright. Thank you for being part of this incredible journey!
Looking forward...
Big hugs and lots of love,
Razz
