Taiko Zentrum Deutschland - NEWS

Hi everyone! Spring is here and with it we have so much happening. April and May are probably the busiest months of the year for TZD. I hope you are enjoying some lovely Spring weather, and I hope to see you soon at one of our events!

Keep reading for all of our upcoming concerts, events, and other news.

Workshops:

Yuta Kato (Los Angeles Taiko Institute, Taiko Project) and Eri Uchida (Kodo, Taiko In') wil be here on May 31st and June 1st to give workshops at TZD! Both of them will be doing workshops at Taikopalooza as well.

Yuta will be teaching 'Hachijo Fundamentals'. This dynamic style of playing is beautiful, full of life and expression, and a lot of fun. Yuta is one of the leading experts in this style and we are very fortunate to have him here.

Eri will be teaching a workshop on using your entire body when you play. If you have ever watched Kodo play in concert, you know that this is exactly what they do! Eri performed with Kodo and helped in training new members. We are very excited to learn all we can from Eri.

The three taikopalooza preparation workshops that I am offering are nearly sold out, but there are a few places left for anyone interested.

Visit www.taikozentrum.de/events to register for our upcoming workshops, or click the button below.

Concerts

As anounced in our last newsletter, the Taikopalooza 5 concert in Glacis Park, Neu Ulm is coming up quickly. It's going to be an unbelievable show. Don't forget to RSVP in case it rains.

Legoland - June 4th

Also on the same day as our Taikopalooza concert, we will also be playing several smaller and shorter performances throughout the day in Legoland! If you are going to Legoland on this day, you can come see us 4 different times:

1. at the park opening where we will be leading guests into the park

2 & 3. two 30 minute concerts in front of the Ninjago ride (circa 12:00 und 14:30)

4: Legoland Parade at 16:00

Then we will be rushing back to Neu-Ulm to play in the Taikopalooza 5 concert!

New Courses:

I am already looking at the Fall semester, and can confirm at least one new course will be offered. On Thursday evenings from 18:00-19:25 I will be teaching a new 'Taiko For Beginners' course. If you or anyone you know is interested, please send them to www.taikozentrum.de/events for more info.

Spring Break

All current TZD students: Starting next week, April 11, TZD will be closed for our Spring Break. All classes will resume on the 25th of April.

Thank You!

That's it! As you can see, there is so much happening right now at TZD. It feels WONDERFUL to see things opening up again! Life feels almost normal, and it fills me with excitement to finally be planning another Taikopalooza, concerts and workshops! None of it would happen without the amazing support and enthusiasm from all of you. THANK YOU for helping TZD survive the COVID crisis. Looking forward to a busy and exciting next few months!

Love & Hugs,

Razz
