Hi all,

We are officially down to 2 months until Taikopalooza!!!!! Time is flying by.

So some deadlines are coming up. I say it all the time but I will say it again. Please Read This Blog Post all the way through :)))

Bachi Requirements:

EVERY participant at Taikopalooza will need the following bachi in NEW or VERY GOOD condition in order to participate:

  • 1 pair chudaiko bachi (no kashi bachi allowed)

  • 1 pair shimedaiko bachi (no kashi allowed)

Wondering what damage is acceptable to your bachi? Rub your finger around both ends of your bachi, especially the part where the side of the bachi meets the top of the bachi. If you feel ANY rough parts, or god forbid you get a splinter, you will need a new pair.

kaDON pre orders:

So you need new bachi? Well now is the time to get them ordered for Taikopalooza. The kaDON pre-orders will close on April 5th. That's just a few days from now, so check your bachi, and be sure to have a look at the kaDON pre-order form and have fun shopping!

Renate sent out a hotel room confirmation to everyone. If you didn't receive it, please check your spam folder and make sure the address nate@taikozentrum.de is cleared. If you still can't find it, you can email Renate at this same address with questions.

We have begun looking at our food needs so expect that form to be coming soon. We do our best to make sure there are vegetarian options on the menus, but we can't guarantee there will be vegan and gluten free options.

However, there is a grocery store in the neighborhood that has both vegan and gluten free food, so you can always get food there and join us in the biergarten for lunch!

TP5 Pre-workshops

Each year there are several pre-workshops for Taikopalooza preparation. I am not sure where these are happening this year, but please post them to the taikopalooza group if you are offering one. I am offering three workshops in April and May for Taikopalooza. If you're in the area and would like to join you can see the dates here: www.taikozentrum.de/events

In addition, Yuta Kato and Eri Uchida will be giving private workshops at my dojo right before Taikopalooza. Right now it looks like Yuta (hachijo) will be on May 31st, and Eri (playing from your core)will be on June 1st! So as soon as these are concrete I will post registration info. But at least now you can plan a little bit ahead.

That's it! As always, let me know if you have any questions, problems, or just want to say WOOOHOOOOOO !!!! It's finally happening!

Big hugs and loads of love,
